How we’re being safe.

The safety and well-being of our staff, guests and the community we serve is our top priority. Here is everything we’re doing to ensure that we can serve you safely whether dining in or using our carryout and delivery services.

  • We’re committed to following all requests coming from the CDC
  • We’re committed to following all requests coming from the WHO
  • We are complying with requirements made by the state, county and city and all requests made by the Governor’s office; reduced capacity, spacing of tables for distancing and demarcation of spacing for guests in common areas before being seated.
  • We are providing workers with up-to-date education and training on COVID-19 risk factors and protective behaviors (e.g., cough etiquette and care of PPE).
  • We are providing resources and a work environment that promotes personal hygiene. (e.g., provide tissues, no-touch trash cans, hand soap, alcohol-based hand rubs containing at least 60 percent alcohol, disinfectants, and disposable towels for workers to clean their work surfaces)
  • We are practicing social distancing
  • We are wearing gloves and face masks
  • We’re increasing our cleaning and sanitation efforts to control any risk using EPA registered “sanitizer” and “disinfectant” products, as set forth by the Health Department and EPA
  • We’ve posted notices about handwashing signs in restrooms.
  • Our team is frequently washing their hands with soap for at least 20 seconds
  • Hand sanitizer is readily available in the restaurant to all employees and guests as often as necessary to be safe
  • Employees who are feeling ill or who have been in contact with an ill person will be asked to stay at home to self-quarantine.
  • If any employee tests positive for COVID 19, we will immediately shut down all operations and remain closed until the entire team is tested and cleared to work. We will also contract a company to perform a deep cleaning of the entire restaurant to make sure we can reopen safely.
  • Before starting any shift, our staff will be required to answer a short questionnaire to determine their fitness for work. Any staff member that has been in contact with, or is showing symptoms of COVID-19 will be asked to leave for testing and follow CDC self-quarantine guidelines properly before returning to work.
  • We are offering paid sick leave for employees who are unwell
  • Our trained and trusted staff is preparing, serving and packaging all dining in, carryout and delivery items when you order directly through Of Rice & Men or Snackpass. (Grubhub, Doordash and Ubereats orders employ their own drivers)
  • We are offering No Contact Carryout and Delivery
  • We are using the back entrance to Blue LLama Jazz Club to limit contact and separate people from each other when picking up food
  • We are reducing customer and employee interaction
  • We have altered our reservation policy to allow our guests to provide payment at the time of booking for no contact payment. Further, we are also allowing guests to pre-order their meal so that there is no need to touch a physical menu and time with employees in person is minimalized.
  • We are utilizing a QR Code scanning system for accessing the menu while dining in. Our guests may view dining and beverage menus on their phone. Simply take out your phone’s camera and scan the code on your table to see all menus. Disposable menus will be available if necessary.
  • We have developed a COVID-19 Response Team. If a guest or staff member has a concern they may direct their attention to any of our manager’s to resolve the situation. The management reserves the right to ask any guest who is exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 to please exit the building for the continued safety of our guests and team at any time.
